The Document Signer Certificates are issued to organizational
software applications for operating automatically to
authenticate documents/information attributed to the
organization by using Digital Signature applied on the document,
documents/Information. Document Signer Certificates’ purpose is
mainly for mainly for automated signing and also to reflect
organizational accountability.
Unlike an Organizational Digital Signature where the signature
is issued to individual name with organizational value, Document
Signer Certificates are issued to Organizational legal name.
Document Signer Certificates are available in Class 3 is meant
for signing at organizational capacity. As per Interoperability
guidelines of CCA, Document Signer Certificate contains
additional Object Identifier (OID) in “Certificate Policies” of
the certificate. That is: 2.16.356.100.2.2
Document Signer Certificate can be issued for 1,2 & 3 Years
Validity. Signing ONLY, Signing & Encryption(Combo)
certificates are varient under Document Signer Certificates. It
can be issued in P12/PFX /HSM. Class 3 Can be downloaded in HSM
Only. Purpose of Document Signer is Purpose is mainly for
automated signing and also to reflect organizational
accountability. Organization need to confirm issuance mode
(File, USB or HSM) before issuance of Certificate.
